The property
The Township of Lingwick is made up of two hamlets: the hamlet of Gould and the hamlet of Sainte-Marguerite.
Gould is the part of Lingwick that reflects Scottish origins and the first pioneers who founded the township. In Gould, you can see the first general store, Chalmers Church, and the Town Hall—formerly Lingwick’s community centre and town hall—now privately owned. Sainte-Marguerite, on the other hand, evokes the arrival of French Canadians beginning in 1886. There you’ll find the general store, Sainte-Marguerite Church, and the Sainte-Marguerite Convent, the village’s first school. Behind the municipal centre, you can access a rest and service area (picnic facilities, playground, public washrooms, and Internet access).
As you travel along our roads, you’ll appreciate the diversity of our agriculture. Farms, fish farms, sugar bushes, and Christmas tree plantations are all part of our local flavour.
Visit our beautiful township in every season and discover its hidden treasures.
