The Township of Lingwick is made up of two hamlets: the hamlet of Gould and the hamlet of Sainte-Marguerite.<\/p>\n

Gould is the part of Lingwick that reflects Scottish origins and the first pioneers who founded the township. In Gould, you can see the first general store, Chalmers Church, and the Town Hall\u2014formerly Lingwick\u2019s community centre and town hall\u2014now privately owned. Sainte-Marguerite, on the other hand, evokes the arrival of French Canadians beginning in 1886. There you\u2019ll find the general store, Sainte-Marguerite Church, and the Sainte-Marguerite Convent, the village\u2019s first school. Behind the municipal centre, you can access a rest and service area (picnic facilities, playground, public washrooms, and Internet access).<\/p>\n

As you travel along our roads, you\u2019ll appreciate the diversity of our agriculture. Farms, fish farms, sugar bushes, and Christmas tree plantations are all part of our local flavour.<\/p>\n
