09 Sep Tours in the Haut-St-François
Drive to cross the road of the townships on the road to the summits? It’s possible in the Haut-Saint-François! Here are three tours that you can take as a couple, with your family or with friends for a one-day getaway. In all three cases, you’ll need to be ready to leave in the morning and expect to be back relatively late in the day. As indicated in the PDFs, it is always best to call before you leave to discuss hours of operation with the owners. This is even more important when you want to do the tour early in the week and early or late in the season! We also recommend that you bring a paper map or download the map of the area from Google Maps before you leave as you will not have internet access at all times. Without further ado, here are the 3 tours:
1- Deer Tartar
This tour suggests you various addresses to get fresh products to cook a unique recipe! You will be able to visit the region while shopping. You could think about doing this activity on a day when you have visitors for dinner for example! If you are staying at the cottage for a week, this tour is a good idea to break the habit of the traditional grocery store!
This itinerary is for marathon adventurers! You have to be ready to experience an almost complete tour of our MRC by doing as many activities as possible. Expect a busy and exciting schedule. From Magnetic Hill, to the gold mine, to the museum and the Discovery Podcast, ending with a dinner at the famous 11 Counties Brewery, you will enjoy making the most of your day with this efficient tour!
3- Goats, Arts and Flowers Tour
Here you have a hybrid between the last two tours. Not only will you be able to visit places and learn more about the way the farms operate, but you will also be able to meet the owners directly to get to know the people behind the businesses. This is also true with the stop at Djinn’s Gallery-Studio! You will have the chance to enjoy your day and see some variety at the same time.
We wish you a nice visit and we invite you to tag us in your pictures with #tourismehsf!
